This website is a clearinghouse for people and groups in Virginia's 11th district who want to see their U.S. Congressman, Tom Davis, play a leading role in solving global warming.
If we're going to be effective in tackling global warming, we need to Congress to legislate. And Congressman Davis, a well-respected leader in the Republican party who knows how to work with Democrats, who represents an educated district with constituents who want to see this problem solved, should be taking the lead.
Please join us in asking Congressman Davis to cosponsor the Safe Climate Act and commit to reducing global warming pollution by 80% by 2050. That's what scientists are recommending we do to prevent the worst impacts of a warming world. From signing an online petition, to posting your own letter, to linking to a YouTube video statement or picture, there's a way for everyone to call on their Congressman for leadership.

May 18, 2007 Rally at Representative Davis’ Annandale office
Greenpeace had over 50 people at an event outside Representative Davis’ Annandale office in May, asking the Congressman to support the Safe Climate Act. Greenpeace Director John Passacatando met one-on-one with Rep. Davis the following week, and was able to speak with him at length about the legislation and Congress’ role in curbing global warming. While Rep. Davis didn’t commit to a cosponsor the legislation, we’re glad that the lines of communication are open and are hopeful that the Congressman will make a firm commitment soon.
